CAF Rejects Second Round Match Rescheduling; Wydad, Berkane, and FAR Players Required to Join Clubs Before Arab Cup
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has rejected a request from North African clubs to reschedule the second-round matches of the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup. The clubs had sought to bring forward these fixtures, which precede the Arab Cup for national teams by a few days. CAF affirmed its commitment to holding the matches on their original dates without any changes.
As per the official schedule, the second-round matches are set to take place on Friday and Saturday, November 28 and 29. This confirms that all participating teams are obligated to play their fixtures on these designated dates.
This decision creates a dual challenge for players from Wydad AC, RS Berkane, and AS FAR. They will be required to be with their clubs for the CAF matches before joining the national team camp. This camp is in preparation for their upcoming match against Comoros on December 2, which marks one of the opening fixtures of the Arab Cup.
