Santos: 'We Deserved to Win Against Maghreb Fez and Will Continue Chasing the Leader'
Portuguese coach Alexandre Santos of AS FAR expressed satisfaction with his team's performance against Maghreb Fez (MAS), despite settling for a goalless draw (0-0) in their match during Week 23 of the Professional League.
Speaking at the post-match press conference, the Portuguese coach stated: "It was a very good and high-quality match. It's true it ended without goals, and when there are no goals, the match isn't perfect because football is better with goals. However, both teams delivered a very good collective performance."
He added: "I believe we showed that we are highly focused on the league and capable of competing to win it. Unfortunately, I feel we deserved to win slightly more than our opponents, with all due respect to Maghreb Fez, and I think a victory would have been fairer for us."
Santos continued: "We did many things well and succeeded in neutralizing many of the opponent's strengths. We also created significant attacking opportunities and were close to scoring. In the final minutes, we demonstrated our ability to retain possession and dictate play."
The AS FAR coach concluded his statement: "Unfortunately, we are not in first place right now, but we will continue to chase the league leaders starting from the next match and will try to secure a victory."
