El Khatoui After MAS Defeat: "I Take Full Responsibility and Will Meet Club President to Assess Situation"
Chokri El Khatoui, coach of Olympique Safi, expressed deep regret following his team's 2-1 defeat to Maghreb Fez (MAS), a result that left the team rooted to the bottom of the league table.
Speaking at the post-match press conference, El Khatoui asserted that his team's current position does not reflect their performance on the pitch, highlighting numerous missed opportunities that could have changed the course of the match.
The Tunisian coach stated: "In matches like these, when you get a chance, you must score. When you look at the performance and the chances we created, unfortunately, we don't deserve this ranking."
El Khatoui stressed that he takes full responsibility, affirming that it is his nature not to evade negative results or attribute them to others. He declared: "It is my nature not to run away from responsibility, and I will sit with the club president to evaluate the situation and see what will happen in the next phase."
He added: "I have learned in my life not to pass the buck to others, and I bear full responsibility."
In closing, the Olympique Safi coach offered an apology to the team's fans, expressing his understanding of their profound disappointment after these results. He said: "I offer a big apology to the Olympique Safi fans, because sometimes football does not give everyone their due."
