Scotland Extends Coach Steve Clarke's Contract Until 2030 World Cup
The Scottish Football Association (SFA) has announced a contract extension for men's national team head coach Steve Clarke, keeping him at the helm until the 2030 FIFA World Cup finals.
"I am truly honoured to lead my team to our first men's World Cup in 28 years, and I am proud to continue my work as head coach," Clarke stated in comments published on the SFA's official website.
He added, "I know that Scotland fans appreciate what this group has achieved after qualifying for two consecutive European Championships, and the entire country celebrated our return to the World Cup after such a long absence."
Clarke continued, "Stability is key to success in football, and this is what I have experienced over the past seven years. We want to continue to develop and improve our performance, and I look forward to working with the new Sporting Director, Craig Mulholland, to support our national youth teams."
Clarke concluded by emphasizing that the current focus is entirely on preparing for the World Cup, starting with the upcoming friendly against Curaçao later this week.
Scotland has been drawn into Group C of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, alongside Morocco, Brazil, and Haiti.
