
Senegalese Federation: 'Delighted with Royal Pardon, Highlighting Brotherhood Between Moroccan and Senegalese Peoples'
The Senegalese Football Federation has expressed its delight following the royal pardon decision to release Senegalese fans who were detained in connection with the riot incidents during the Africa Cup of Nations final.
In a statement published on its official accounts, the Senegalese Federation said: "The Federation expressed its satisfaction with this happy outcome, which came thanks to the royal pardon granted by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, within the framework of the spirit of brotherhood, solidarity, and the distinguished relations between the Senegalese and Moroccan peoples."
The statement continued: "The Federation extended its sincere thanks to the high authorities in Senegal and Morocco, and to all individuals, institutions, and stakeholders who contributed, directly or indirectly, to achieving this release and ensuring the return of its citizens."
It concluded by calling on "fans, families, and all lovers of Senegalese football to give a warm welcome to their compatriots upon their arrival at Blaise Diagne International Airport this evening."
