"I will join on May 26"… Utrecht's Play-off Final Qualification Delays El Karouani's Morocco Camp Arrival
Moroccan international Soufiane El Karouani has confirmed that his arrival at the Moroccan national team training camp will be postponed until May 26. This delay is due to his commitment to play in the European play-off final with Utrecht, a date that also marks the final days of the "Atlas Lions" preparatory gathering.
El Karouani explained in a media statement that he received a call last week to join the preparatory camp on May 22. This call was based on the organization of a camp for available players, as it was initially believed his season would conclude on May 17, before the play-off competitions continued.
Regarding the situation, El Karouani stated: "Yes, I was contacted last week to see if I could attend on May 22 for an additional camp with the available players. They thought I would finish my season on the 17th, but I still have play-off matches."
He further added: "We had agreed that if we were eliminated today, I would join tomorrow, but now my arrival will be on the 26th, which is the date for the announcement of the final squad. Because I cannot attend now, otherwise I would have already gone there."
Soufiane El Karouani is part of the Moroccan national team squad called up for a training camp at the Mohammed VI Football Complex, scheduled from this Friday until May 26.
