Netherlands Coach: "We Are Capable of Defeating Any Team at the World Cup"
Ronald Koeman, head coach of the Netherlands national team, asserted that his squad is capable of defeating any opponent at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, set to be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Speaking in an interview with FIFA's official website, Koeman stated: “People might not consider us among the top favourites to win the World Cup. However, the strength of the Netherlands lies in our ability to defeat any team, because the quality is present in our squad.”
He continued: “I want people to say about my team that they play with high intensity, and that no one can say we didn't give our all. I want them to play with confidence and character, and to realise their capabilities.”
Koeman added: “Furthermore, every opponent must always be respected, even if there are teams considered smaller at the World Cup. Every match has its own circumstances, and you must not allow yourself to be surprised by a lesser-known team.”
The Dutch national team is in Group F of the World Cup, alongside Japan, Sweden, and Tunisia.
