Spanish Football Federation President Demands Decisive Ruling in 'Negreira Case'
Rafael Lozano, President of the Spanish Football Federation, has called for a "strong and decisive" judicial ruling in the ongoing investigations into the "Negreira case," which is linked to Barcelona. His remarks came during an official event held today, Wednesday, in Madrid to support the Spanish national team.
Lozano emphasized the necessity of reaching a clear and definitive resolution to this judicial process, which is scrutinizing financial payments made by the club to the former Vice-President of the Referees' Technical Committee.
In his statements, Lozano explained that the Federation intends to analyze all available information through its legal department, while being careful to avoid engaging in any media debates. He also noted that the events under investigation predate the current leadership taking on its responsibilities.
Rafael Lozano stated, "This is not part of our era; it is neither my period nor Fran Soto's period, but a phase that has completely passed," indicating that the events in question took place between 2001 and 2018.
As he looks to end the controversy surrounding Spanish football, the Federation President stressed the importance of swift judicial decisions to achieve clear results, stating, "I hope a decisive ruling is issued as soon as possible."
