Olympique Dcheira Condemns Refereeing Decisions Against Kawkab, Demands Urgent Investigation
Olympique Dcheira has issued an official statement expressing its strong dissatisfaction with the refereeing performance during its 2-1 defeat to Kawkab Marrakech on Monday evening, in a match for the 18th round of the Professional League.
In its statement, the club clarified that the encounter witnessed "refereeing errors that directly impacted the course and outcome of the match," expressing strong protest and rejection of what it described as "unjust" decisions that affected the game's progression.
The statement highlighted several refereeing incidents, most notably the awarding of a penalty to Kawkab Marrakech, which the club deemed incorrect, arguing that their player challenged the ball with his head without committing a foul. It also pointed out the referee's failure to show a red card to a Kawkab defender after he fouled a Dcheira attacker who was clear on goal, with the referee only issuing a yellow card.
The club added that the same player later committed another foul that warranted a second yellow card and subsequent dismissal, but the referee failed to make the appropriate decision, which the club considered a clear violation of the laws of the game.
The statement further addressed the disallowing of a goal for Olympique Dcheira due to offside, asserting that the play was legitimate and did not warrant cancellation, thereby depriving the team of a valid goal that could have changed the match's dynamics.
The club also criticized what it described as a "double standard" in refereeing decisions, citing fouls awarded to the opponent while similar challenges on its own players were overlooked, which it viewed as undermining the principle of fair play.
Olympique Dcheira concluded its statement by affirming its categorical rejection of these refereeing practices, while reserving its right to take all legal and regulatory measures to defend its interests. It called upon the supervisory bodies to launch an urgent investigation into these incidents and impose necessary sanctions to ensure respect for the principles of integrity and sporting justice within the competition.
