El Khatwi After Hassania Defeat: 'Psychological Impact Since Confederation Cup Exit; We Must Overcome This Difficult Situation'

Olympique Safi coach, Choukri El Khatwi, expressed his regret following the 2-1 defeat to Hassania Agadir in their match on Monday, part of the 18th round of the Professional League.

During the post-match press conference, El Khatwi affirmed that his team is enduring a challenging period mentally, particularly after their elimination from the CAF Confederation Cup. He noted that this factor has had a clear impact on the players' performance in recent matches.

El Khatwi stated, "This is the second consecutive time we've taken the lead. Honestly, there's been a psychological impact since our exit from the CAF Confederation Cup, which has put us in this critical situation today."

He added, "As long as there is life, there is hope. We must get out of this very difficult situation we are in, which leans more towards the mental aspect than anything else."

The Olympique Safi coach further explained that his team attempted to find various solutions during the match. He remarked, "We tried to find all solutions, and even when we were leading by a goal to nil, the scenario always repeated itself, just like in the previous match. This is football; just as we accept the beautiful moments, we must also accept the difficult ones."
