
Ittihad Tanger Condemns Attack on Team Bus in Safi, Demands Investigation After Technical Staff Injuries
Ittihad Tanger Football Club has expressed its strong condemnation of the unfortunate incident involving the team bus following their match against Olympique Safi in Week 17 of the Professional League, which ended in a 2-1 victory for Ittihad Tanger. The bus was pelted with stones by unknown individuals.
In an official statement, the club affirmed that this irresponsible behavior contradicts the sporting values and competitive spirit that should prevail both inside and outside stadiums. It further stated that such actions harm Moroccan football in general.
The attack resulted in material damage to the bus, in addition to injuries sustained by the assistant coach and several members of the technical staff. They were transported to receive necessary first aid, and fortunately, their health condition is stable.
In this context, Ittihad Tanger strongly condemned all forms of violence associated with sports matches, emphasizing its categorical rejection of such actions.
The club also called upon the competent authorities to launch an urgent investigation into the incident and to take the necessary measures against those involved, in order to ensure the safety of all team members during their future travels.
Ittihad Tanger had managed to turn a deficit into a valuable away victory against Olympique Safi with a 2-1 scoreline, adding three crucial points to their tally. This result raised their total to 17 points, placing them tenth in the Professional League standings.
