Ittihad Tanger Stages Dramatic Comeback to Defeat Olympic Safi (2-1)
Ittihad Tanger staged a remarkable comeback to secure a valuable 2-1 victory over hosts Olympic Safi in their match during Week 17 of the Botola Pro Inwi.
The beginning of the match saw a clear balance between the two teams, with each side focusing on defensive organization and avoiding errors. They cautiously explored the opponent's weaknesses without taking significant attacking risks.
Despite some light attempts from both sides throughout the first half, a lack of attacking effectiveness and the final touch prevented the creation of genuine scoring opportunities. Olympic Safi eventually broke through the defenses when Younes Najari scored their opening goal in the 46th minute, concluding the first half with a 1-0 lead.
As the second half commenced, both teams continued their efforts to score. Ittihad Tanger succeeded in doing so, netting two goals through Papa Magaye in the 97th minute and Eric Tony in the 99th minute, securing a 2-1 victory for the Tangier-based side.
With this result, Ittihad Tanger raised their points tally to 17, placing them tenth in the league standings, while Olympic Safi's points remained at 15, keeping them in 13th position.
