Ittihad Tanger Ends Jose Mel Perez's Coaching Contract, Appoints Him General Sports Manager
Ittihad Tanger Club announced the termination of Jose Mel Perez's duties as the first-team coach, as part of a restructuring of the club's technical management for the upcoming phase.
The Tangier-based club confirmed in an official statement that this move aims to leverage his expertise, appointing him as General Sports Manager (Manager Général Sportif). In this new role, he will oversee general technical supervision and follow-up, supporting team stability and contributing to the development of the club's sports system.
The club concluded its statement by wishing Jose Mel Perez success in his new responsibilities within the club.
"El Botola" had previously reported that Abdelhak Benchikha signed his coaching contract with Ittihad Tanger moments ago. Benchikha has a history of coaching several national clubs, including Ittihad Tanger during the 2017/2018 football season.
Ittihad Tanger currently sits 12th in the Botola Pro "Inwi" league with 13 points. This tally is considered by the club's fans to be below their expectations and the team's value after the first half of the season.
