Ancelotti's Son: "Brazilians Love Beautiful Football, But Above All, They Love to Win"
David Ancelotti, son and technical assistant to Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti, discussed Brazil's playing philosophy ahead of the World Cup, highlighting the blend between footballing identity and the pursuit of results.
Speaking in an interview with "BBC Sport," David stated that the Brazilian people adore football, but simultaneously prioritize winning. He added, "Brazilians love beautiful football, but they love to win a lot."
He further explained that an analysis of the current Brazilian national team reveals strong players across all lines. He said, "There are defenders among the best in the world, and exceptional players in transitions, such as wingers, number 10s, and strikers."
He noted that this diversity provides the team with multiple tactical options, but he also emphasized the importance of Brazil's footballing culture. He clarified, "There is a culture of attacking play, football to win, and playing with a smile, and that must be taken into account."
David added that the success of any tactical project requires a balance between identity, technical ideas, and players. He stated, "You must have a clear identity, but with the ability to adapt, balancing your ideas with the characteristics of the players, in addition to the team's identity."
Ancelotti's son concluded by stressing the difficulty of the task, saying, "It's not easy... and on top of that, you have to win the World Cup."
It is worth noting that the Brazilian national team is in Group C of the World Cup, alongside Morocco, Scotland, and Haiti.
