Frisca (Former Barcelona Presidential Candidate): "I Congratulate Real Madrid on Their First Title in Two Seasons: Avoiding Humiliation Against Barcelona"
Former Barcelona presidential candidate, Toni Freixa, mocked Real Madrid's second consecutive season without trophies. He stated that their victory over Espanyol and the postponement of the Catalan club's La Liga title celebration was a "title" in itself for coach Arbeloa's men, as it helped them avoid humiliation in "El Clásico."
Freixa said in a statement to the program "El Chiringuito": "First and foremost, I congratulate Real Madrid on their first title in two seasons, which is avoiding humiliation against Barcelona (avoiding a guard of honor in El Clásico)."
He continued: "Barcelona will be crowned champions of the Spanish League, and this is a great opportunity to celebrate two things: the first is the title, and the second is Real Madrid not winning any titles for two consecutive seasons."
He concluded by saying: "Barcelona will win the league title for the second time in a row, the third in 4 years, the 11th in 18 years, and the 19th in 36 years. The Blaugrana's dominance in the Spanish League must be acknowledged."
It is worth noting that Barcelona will host their rivals Real Madrid at the Camp Nou next Sunday (20:00 GMT+1), where a draw will be enough for them to officially secure the Spanish League title.
