Paris Saint-Germain secured a thrilling 5-4 victory over visitors Bayern Munich on Tuesday evening in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final clash.
The Bavarian side opened the scoring early through Harry Kane from a penalty in the 17th minute, before Khvicha Kvaratskhelia equalized for Paris in the 24th minute.
The hosts continued their pressure, with João Neves scoring their second goal in the 33rd minute. However, Bayern Munich responded again through Michael Olise, who netted the equalizer in the 41st minute.
In first-half stoppage time, Ousmane Dembélé gave Paris Saint-Germain the lead from a penalty in the 45+5th minute. Kvaratskhelia then added a fourth goal in the 56th minute.
Dembélé scored Paris's fifth goal, before Dayot Upamecano reduced the deficit for Bayern in the 65th minute. This was followed by a fourth goal for Bayern scored by Luis Díaz in the 68th minute, setting the match ablaze until the final minutes.
Individually, Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi started the match and delivered an outstanding performance, providing the assist for Paris Saint-Germain's fourth goal, underscoring his strong presence in this major encounter.
The return leg between the two teams is scheduled for Wednesday, May 6, kicking off at 8:00 PM (GMT+1).
