Baaouf: "I Want to Go to the World Cup, It's Every Young Player's Dream"
Ismail Baaouf hopes to join the Moroccan national team at the upcoming World Cup next summer and compete in the global tournament with the "Atlas Lions," who are set to face Brazil, Scotland, and Haini in the group stage.
The Cambuur talent was called up to the Moroccan national team for the first time last March but did not get the opportunity to make his debut.
Baaouf said in an interview with a Dutch newspaper: "If it were up to me, I would definitely want to go. Playing in the World Cup is every young player's dream."
He added: "Perhaps that helps a little in the selection process, but ultimately, what you deliver on the pitch is the decisive factor. I hope I get the opportunity."
Baaouf moved to Cambuur this summer, where he has become a regular starter. The 19-year-old defender is having a good season and won the World Cup with the Morocco U20 national team last October.
