Sevilla Loses to Osasuna (2-1) with 99th-Minute Goal, Drops to 18th and Relegation Zone
Sevilla suffered a last-minute defeat to hosts Osasuna, losing 2-1 in a match played at El Sadar Stadium as part of La Liga's 33rd round.
The first half ended goalless, but Sevilla broke the deadlock in the 69th minute through French player Neal Maupay. Osasuna then equalized in the 80th minute courtesy of Raúl García.
In stoppage time, Osasuna secured the winning goal against Sevilla, with Alejandro Catena scoring in the 99th minute.
Sevilla continues to struggle at the bottom of the Spanish league table, currently occupying 18th place with 34 points, a position that would lead to relegation to the Segunda División.
The Andalusian club has managed only 9 wins from 33 matches, suffering 17 defeats and drawing 7, a record that makes it difficult to remain in the top flight.
Notably, the points difference between Rayo Vallecano (11th) and Sevilla (18th) is just 5 points, indicating that the battle to avoid relegation will intensify over the remaining five rounds of the Spanish league season.
