Barcelona Considers Moroccan Ez Abde as Rashford Alternative
Spanish club Barcelona continues to explore its attacking options in anticipation of England international Marcus Rashford's future. The club's management is now considering an "alternative plan" in case a deal for Rashford is not finalized during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Spanish newspaper "AS" reported that Barcelona still regards Rashford as the primary option to bolster their attacking flank. However, doubts surrounding his recent form and the potential cost of the transfer have led the club to consider other alternatives, including Moroccan international Abde Ezzalzouli.
According to the Spanish publication, the Catalan club is evaluating several names to strengthen their attack if the Rashford deal falls through. Ez Abde is highlighted as one of the prominent options due to his significant development with Real Betis and his ability to play as a left winger.
The same source added that Barcelona is looking to sign a fast and effective winger who can complement players like Lamine Yamal and Raphinha, as part of restructuring their attacking line for the upcoming season.
While Rashford remains the top target, Barcelona's management is moving cautiously in the market, listing several alternative names in anticipation of any setbacks in negotiations, with Ez Abde and other young talents at the forefront.
Ez Abde previously played 14 matches for Barcelona's first team during his tenure at the club before moving to Real Betis in 2023.
The 24-year-old Moroccan player is having an impressive season with Real Betis, having scored 11 goals and provided 10 assists in 34 appearances across all competitions this season.
