Barcelona Considers Ez Abde Return as Potential Option if Rashford Deal Fails
Media reports indicate that Spanish club Barcelona has identified Moroccan international Abde Ezzalzouli as one of its attacking priorities for the upcoming summer transfer window, as the club seeks to strengthen its frontline with fast and effective wide players.
According to sources cited by ESPN, the Catalan club retains a buy-back option for the player, in addition to a clause that grants them 50% of any future sale fee Real Betis might secure.
The sources clarified that Barcelona, aiming to restructure its attack ahead of next season, plans to sign a new winger to bolster offensive options alongside Lamine Yamal and Raphinha.
The same sources confirmed that Ezzalzouli is not Barcelona's primary choice for this position, particularly if the club does not activate the purchase clause for English player Marcus Rashford. Rashford, currently on loan from Manchester United, has a permanent transfer option for Barcelona valued at 30 million euros, with a final decision expected before June 15.
They added that Ezzalzouli, who previously played 14 matches for Barcelona's first team during his time at the club before moving to Real Betis in 2023, is considered a suitable candidate for the club's vision due to his speed, dribbling skills, and ability to make a difference.
The 24-year-old Moroccan player has scored 23 goals in 117 appearances for Real Betis, placing him within Barcelona's radar, despite other options being considered by the club.
