Olympique Safi Spokesperson Bouferdi: "All Conditions Provided for 500 USM Alger Fans to Enter Stadium Smoothly"
Abdellah Bouferdi, the official spokesperson for Olympique Safi, affirmed that his team's match against Algerian side USM Alger remains a sporting encounter between two teams from brotherly countries, ahead of the CAF Confederation Cup semi-final second leg.
Bouferdi stated in a press release: "For us, in the return leg that will take place tomorrow, God willing, between Olympique Safi and USM Alger, as everyone knows, our fans were unable to enter the stadium during the first leg in Algeria due to reasons related to stadium organization and the procedures of the Algerian authorities."
He added: "On the contrary, here in the Kingdom of Morocco, we welcome everyone who visits our country, whether as a tourist or as a follower of championships and sporting events, and as management, we welcome the Algerian fans."
He continued: "According to what was discussed in this morning's technical conference, we expect the presence of approximately 450 to 500 supporters of USM Alger, and all appropriate conditions have been provided to enable them to travel to Safi and enter the stadium smoothly and without any harassment."
He concluded: "We consider this match a brotherly encounter between two teams and two neighboring countries, and between two brotherly peoples. The Moroccan authorities and citizens deal with these matters with awareness, because sport remains a field for fair competition, far from any tension or unsportsmanlike conduct."
The match will take place tomorrow, Sunday, at the Stade El Massira in Safi, kicking off at 8:00 PM. The first leg ended in a goalless draw (0-0).
