CAF Schedules April 9 Hearing for Al-Hilal's Complaint Against RS Berkane Over Moussaoui's Eligibility

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has scheduled a hearing for Thursday, April 9, to address Al-Hilal of Sudan's complaint against RS Berkane regarding the eligibility of player Hamza El Moussaoui.

CAF decided to hold the hearing two days before the first leg of the CAF Champions League semi-final match between AS FAR and RS Berkane.

This decision follows five official complaints submitted by Al-Hilal between March 23 and April 3, during which they received no response from CAF. However, CAF confirmed in an official statement on Sunday that their request for a hearing had been accepted.

In its statement, the Sudanese club expressed reservations regarding the lack of clarification concerning the position of other involved parties, particularly player Hamza El Moussaoui. Al-Hilal asserted that this ambiguity makes it difficult to participate in the hearing in good faith without knowing all the details, describing it as "unacceptable administrative silence."

Al-Hilal demanded that CAF issue a decisive ruling before April 6, emphasizing the necessity of informing all parties of this decision before the match scheduled for April 11, or postponing the fixture until a final verdict is reached. The club also indicated its potential recourse to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) should its demands not be met.
