El Mourabit in Talks with Strasbourg for Improved Contract Extension
Young midfielder Samir El Mourabit, who recently made his debut for the Moroccan national team, is currently in negotiations with French club Strasbourg to extend his contract.
The 20-year-old El Mourabit has been one of the team's standout players this season, ranking fourth among outfield players in terms of minutes played, having accumulated 2,410 minutes across all competitions. He trails only Baniceli, Barco, and Doukouré. His performance has shown remarkable development, allowing him to establish himself as a key member of the squad.
Although El Mourabit's contract was extended last November until 2030, his current salary does not reflect his present standing or future potential. He earns between 50,000 and 60,000 euros per month, a figure far from the club's highest earners, according to French newspaper L'Equipe.
The same source confirmed that to rectify this situation, Strasbourg's management has initiated negotiations with the player, aiming to sign a new contract with improved financial terms that align with his development and importance to the team.
It is worth noting that Samir El Mourabit played his first matches for the senior Moroccan national team during the recent international break, coming on as a substitute in a friendly against Ecuador before starting in the match against Paraguay.
