Gacemi After Reims Heroics: "I'll Keep Working for Coach's Trust and More Chances"
Moroccan midfielder Yassine Jassim, who plays for French club Strasbourg, hopes to maintain the impressive performance he displayed against Stade de Reims in the French Cup quarter-finals. He stated his commitment to continue working hard to earn the coach's full trust. Following his contribution to Strasbourg's progression to the semi-finals, Jassim told the media: "I was serious, and that was reflected on the pitch. Thank God for that, but I hope it's not just one good day followed by another where I'm not. I will continue to work and keep playing."
He added: "Facing a team that relies on defensive compactness was difficult because we had to find solutions. After that, we were lucky with the penalties. Fatigue also played a role, but we finished the match well. We had to show a lot of patience tonight, and that's what happened. Matches like these, as I experienced last year in the French Cup, are often decided in the final minutes. We were patient, and it worked out."
Regarding his opportunity to start, Jassim continued: "As I said, whether the coach gives me one minute, thirty seconds, or thirty minutes, I always try to give my all. I continue to work in training so that the coach trusts me more and gives me greater opportunities."
He explained concerning his performance in yesterday's match: "I'm just enjoying myself, doing what I love, and that's the joy of football. I enjoy playing as if I'm playing with my friends. I think that's a good thing."
Concluding on reaching the French Cup semi-finals, he stated: "Reaching this stage for several consecutive years is wonderful and amazing. Now we have the desire to go far, but it's step by step. The next match is against Angers, and then we'll see. Qualification was delayed a bit, but the most important thing is that we showed patience, and in the end, we succeeded."
