Olympique Marseille Cancels E-Tickets for Lyon and Toulouse Matches Following Cyber Attack
French club Olympique Marseille has announced the necessity to re-issue e-tickets for their upcoming matches against Olympique Lyon and Toulouse. This measure comes as a precaution following a cyber attack on the club's official website last Monday, which necessitated updating stadium entry data to ensure the safety of organizational operations.
The club clarified that tickets downloaded before Wednesday, February 25, at 7 PM will not be valid for entry to the Orange Velodrome stadium. Olympique Marseille stated, "E-tickets downloaded before Wednesday, February 25, at 7 PM will not allow entry to the Orange Velodrome stadium." Fans have been asked to access their personal accounts to download the updated versions.
Club management reassured fans that the cyber attack did not compromise their banking data or passwords, emphasizing that the "re-issuance of e-tickets" is a "precautionary measure" deemed necessary to protect public interests. In response to the incident, the club has initiated legal proceedings with France's National Commission for Information Technology and Freedoms (CNIL) and filed an official complaint with the competent authorities.
These organizational measures cover the team's Ligue 1 match against Olympique Lyon on March 1, and the French Cup quarter-final against Toulouse on March 4. Through these proactive steps, Olympique Marseille aims to secure fan access and prevent any technical complications at the Orange Velodrome that could arise from the cancelled tickets.
