ACL Tear Ends Panichelli's Season, Rules Him Out of World Cup
Strasbourg forward Joaquín Banichelli has been confirmed to have suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear in his right knee. This serious injury will rule him out of the upcoming World Cup finals and the remainder of the current season.
The Argentine Football Association officially announced the nature of the injury, which the 23-year-old player sustained during a training session last Thursday. The session was part of the team's preparations for a friendly match against Mauritania.
This setback comes as a significant blow to the young forward, who will be forced to step away from the pitch just as he was delivering impressive performances for his club in France.
This marks the second such injury for Banichelli in a short period. He previously suffered an ACL tear in his left knee in 2023, presenting his career with a new test and another medical challenge.
Banichelli made his international debut for the Argentine national team on November 14 last year, participating in a friendly match against Angola.
