M'Baye (Senegalese FA Member): "We Will Appeal to CAS on Tuesday, News of CAF Appeal Committee Decisions Being Frozen is False"

Moussa M'Baye, a member of the Senegalese Football Federation's Executive Committee, denied the authenticity of "false" reports circulated by Algerian media regarding a decision from the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to freeze rulings issued by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Appeal Committee.

Malicious media outlets had spread false news about the freezing of a decision that deemed the Senegalese national team to have withdrawn and lost (3-0) against Morocco in the Africa Cup of Nations final. In reality, the Senegalese Federation has not yet been able to submit its appeal to CAS.

Moussa M'Baye told Senegalese channel "RTS": "We will submit the appeal to the court on Tuesday. We will begin these procedures."

He continued: "Freezing of CAF Appeal Committee decisions? People will hear a lot of false news, but they must be patient and await official statements from the Senegalese Federation."

He concluded by saying: "We will not act impulsively; instead, we will maintain the necessary calm and wisdom to serve the interests of Senegalese football."
