Samir El Mourabit, the newest addition to the Moroccan national team, expressed immense pride following his first call-up to participate in the friendly matches against Ecuador and Paraguay. He stated his readiness to work hard to achieve good results with the "Atlas Lions" in the 2026 World Cup.
In a statement to the official website of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, El Mourabit said: "We watched the coach's press conference. I was at the hotel, we had a match that same evening, and I listened, and my name was mentioned, and I was really happy. I felt there was good recognition, and I was very happy to be selected for this gathering."
He continued: "He (my father) was very happy for me, and he was also proud of me. It's also a feeling of pride for the family because I can represent my country. They told me to enjoy it and give my all for the nation."
He added: "This was part of my dreams, and I have achieved it. Now, I must continue to stay, and I must work. The next goal is the World Cup. We will try to be part of this team, to offer as much as we know, and try to go as far as possible in the competition."
He concluded his message to the Moroccan fans: "I would like to thank the public for their support. I have received many messages and a lot of support. I thank them very much. We feel that there is a great nation behind us, and this is a very beautiful feeling."
