Moroccan international Nayel El Aynaoui, a midfielder for Italian club AS Roma, was subjected to a "serious" robbery inside his home in the Italian capital, Rome, in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Six masked and armed men broke into El Aynaoui's residence in the "Castel Fusano" district around 3 AM, after forcibly opening a living room window, according to French website "Foot Mercato".
The assailants then held El Aynaoui and several members of his family in one of the rooms in his home while they carried out the robbery.
The perpetrators searched the apartment and stole jewelry and valuables, estimated to be worth around 10,000 euros, including a Rolex watch and well-known branded bags.
Police intervened immediately after receiving the report and have launched an investigation to identify the perpetrators of this assault against El Aynaoui and his family.
