Roma Coach on El Aynaoui's Participation Against Como: "Morocco Filed FIFA Appeal, Awaiting Decision"

Gian Piero Gasperini, Roma coach, confirmed that a decision on whether to field Naël El Aynaoui against Como tomorrow, Monday, in Serie A's 15th round, has not yet been made. This comes after the Royal Moroccan Football Federation filed an appeal with FIFA regarding the player joining the "Atlas Lions" camp in preparation for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Gasperini stated: "Ndicka will be available tomorrow. We will see what happens in the next few matches. As for El Aynaoui, Morocco has filed an appeal with FIFA, so we are awaiting FIFA's decision."

He added: "This is a round of league matches where teams that played on Saturday and Sunday were allowed to field players participating in the Africa Cup of Nations. However, we, who will play on Monday, have been asked not to include them, even though it's the same round. We are awaiting FIFA's decision."

It is worth noting that FIFA had previously informed clubs that they could retain their players participating in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations until December 15, before they were required to join their national teams.
