Bentayg Causes Zamalek's 12th Transfer Ban Due to Unpaid Installment from Saint-Étienne Deal
Zamalek Club has received a new notification regarding one of the cases linked to a transfer ban, as the 12th case has emerged among the files filed against the club with FIFA. This particular case pertains to financial dues related to the transfer of Moroccan player Mahmoud Bentayg from French club Saint-Étienne to the Egyptian team.
Egyptian media outlets revealed that the case is related to an outstanding financial installment owed to Saint-Étienne, valued at approximately 500,000 euros. This amount is one of the installments agreed upon as part of the player's transfer deal to Zamalek.
The source clarified that this sum represents part of the financial agreement between the two parties. However, the Egyptian club's delay in payment prompted Saint-Étienne's management to appeal to FIFA to collect their dues.
The source added that this case has been included among the files that contributed to imposing the transfer ban on Zamalek Club recently.
Zamalek officials are currently working to settle a number of financial cases filed against the club with FIFA, aiming to resolve the transfer ban crisis and lift the imposed sanctions before the upcoming transfer windows.
