El Shenawy: "We Know AS FAR Well, Aiming for Positive Result in Morocco"
Pyramids FC goalkeeper Ahmed El Shenawy spoke about the difficulty of facing AS FAR in the first leg of the CAF Champions League quarter-finals, emphasizing the importance of capitalizing on the absence of the Moroccan club's fans.
During the pre-match press conference, El Shenawy stated: "We know AS FAR very well, and we realize they possess great capabilities and experience."
He continued: "We are focused and have prepared well for the match. We know it will be a difficult encounter. We hope to achieve a positive result in Morocco, so that the decider remains for the return leg in Egypt."
He added: "The absence of AS FAR fans from the first leg is an opportunity we must seize to return with a positive result before the second leg."
El Shenawy concluded: "We are always very happy to be in Morocco, as the two peoples are brothers first and foremost. I hope the match lives up to the standards of Egyptian and Moroccan football."
It is worth noting that AS FAR will host Egyptian side Pyramids FC this Friday at 22:00 (local time) in the first leg of the CAF Champions League quarter-finals, a match that will be played behind closed doors.
