Pyramids Coach: "AS FAR Was Our Toughest Opponent on the Way to Winning the Champions League"
Croatian Kruncoslav Jurčić, coach of Egyptian club Pyramids, acknowledged the strength of Moroccan side AS FAR ahead of their encounter tomorrow, Friday.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference today, Thursday, Jurčić recalled last season's quarter-final encounters, stating: "A difficult match awaits us. During our journey to win the CAF Champions League last season, I said on more than one occasion that the toughest part of our path was those two matches against AS FAR."
He added: "I have great respect for AS FAR. They possess excellent players who are fast and skilled at passing the ball. In general, I respect Moroccan football. It's also positive that they are a team that hasn't undergone significant player changes, retaining their squad for another season, which is crucial."
It is worth noting that AS FAR will host Egyptian side Pyramids tomorrow, Friday, at 22:00 for the first leg of the CAF Champions League quarter-finals. The match will be played behind closed doors due to a stadium ban, a three-match penalty that concludes tomorrow.
