Aguerd Undergoes Surgery: "This Decision Should Have Been Made Sooner... My Goal is to Return to Help Marseille Without Pain"
Moroccan international Nayef Aguerd, a player for Olympique Marseille, announced that he has undergone successful surgery, stating that the decision to operate should have been made earlier to alleviate his pain.
Aguerd shared an update on his official social media accounts, stating: "Since October, I have been suffering from pain that has become a part of my daily life. From waking up until sleeping, and sometimes even during the night, this pain has been constant. Despite all the medical protocols followed over the past months, unfortunately, it wasn't enough. Therefore, undergoing surgery became inevitable."
He continued: "I would like to thank Dr. Gilles Reboul, who performed my surgery, as well as Dr. Christophe Baudot from the national team for his diligent follow-up. A big thank you also goes to the medical staff of Olympique Marseille for their unwavering support from beginning to end."
He added: "This decision should have been made some time ago, but I wanted to continue and search for the best possible solutions before reaching this stage."
He explained: "Now is the time for rest and recovery, with only one goal: to be ready in time to help Olympique Marseille in the final phase of the season, this time at 100% and without pain."
He concluded: "I also want to thank my teammates in both the national team and Olympique Marseille, who witnessed my struggles over the past months and offered me immense support. I wish them all the best in their upcoming matches."
