Spanish Federation Allocates 52,000 Tickets for Copa del Rey Finalists
The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has announced an increased allocation of tickets for Atlético Madrid and Real Sociedad for the upcoming Copa del Rey final, with the two clubs set to receive over 52,000 tickets combined. This decision follows a meeting held on Tuesday at the RFEF headquarters with representatives from both clubs, which will make approximately 80% of the Estadio La Cartuja's capacity in Seville available to the public.
According to the agreed distribution, each finalist will receive 25,680 tickets from the general seating capacity, in addition to VIP tickets and those designated for people with disabilities. The meeting was attended by Rafael Lozano, President of the RFEF, Miguel Ángel Gil Marín representing Atlético Madrid, and Jokin Aperribay, President of Real Sociedad. The RFEF will manage the remaining 20% of the stadium's capacity.
The final is scheduled for April 18 at Estadio La Cartuja. Atlético Madrid will be treated as the home team due to being the older club between the two competitors. Organizational arrangements also include the creation of two fan zones on match day to accommodate the anticipated influx of supporters and provide a suitable environment for both sets of fans in Seville.
This encounter marks the second time the two clubs will meet in the competition's final, following their clash in June 1987, which saw Real Sociedad lift the trophy. Both teams aim to write a new chapter in the tournament's history in this renewed confrontation, which is expected to draw a large crowd thanks to the recent ticket distribution arrangements.
