Mohamed Wahbi Details First Steps with Moroccan National Team
In his first statement since officially being appointed head coach of the Moroccan national team, succeeding Walid Regragui, Mohamed Wahbi revealed details regarding the formation of his technical staff. He confirmed that work would commence immediately in preparation for upcoming fixtures.
Wahbi clarified that Portuguese coach João Sacramento would serve as his first assistant, describing him as a highly experienced individual despite his young age. He noted that Sacramento previously worked with prominent coaches such as José Mourinho and Christophe Galtier at major clubs including Tottenham, Roma, and Paris Saint-Germain.
Wahbi added: "Things moved very quickly, and we have already started working together. As for the rest of the technical staff, there are still some details we are arranging over the coming days, but I am confident because there are very enthusiastic and committed individuals ready to work with the Moroccan national team."
Wahbi's statement reflects the beginning of a new era for the national team, with a clear focus on technical expertise and organized planning. The full technical staff and the objectives he aims to achieve with the "Atlas Lions" before the start of the 2026 World Cup are yet to be revealed.
