Date and Venue Announced for 2026 Copa del Rey Final in Seville
The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has officially announced the date and venue for the 2026 Copa del Rey final. The highly anticipated match is scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 18, with kick-off set for 9:00 PM local Spanish time, a decision that will determine the champion of the prestigious competition.
Seville's La Cartuja Stadium will host the final, marking the seventh consecutive edition of the competition to be held at the venue. Notably, April 18 will be a first in the history of the Copa del Rey (also known as Copa del Rey Mapfre), as the final has never before been played on this specific date since the tournament's inception.
Currently, four major clubs – Athletic Bilbao, Real Sociedad, Barcelona, and Atlético Madrid – are vying for a spot in this ultimate stage, though the two finalists are yet to be determined. The historical roots of this tournament trace back to the early 20th century, with the inaugural edition of the Copa del Rey having been held in April 1903.
