Deco Addresses Julian Alvarez Transfer Talks
Barcelona sporting director Deco has denied any current negotiations with clubs or players regarding striker Julian Alvarez, emphasizing that the club has not opened talks at this time.
Speaking to the press on Thursday, the sporting official clarified that now is not the appropriate time to discuss transfer deals, despite the club's general interest in several prominent players in the footballing arena.
Deco affirmed that February is not the right time to make crucial decisions about the team's future or engage in formal negotiations. He stated, “We are in February, and there are many players we like, but we will see what happens in the future. We currently have two strikers, and this is not the time to make decisions.” The sporting director added that the club currently possesses sufficient attacking options, making it unnecessary to rush matters at this stage of the season.
Responding to reports linking the Catalan club with specific names, Deco stressed the absence of any direct contact with external parties, saying, “We haven't spoken with any club or player; this is not the right time to do so, no matter how much we like these players.”
