
Women's National Team Thrashes Burkina Faso 5-0 in AFCON Preparation
The Women's National Team secured a resounding 5-0 victory in a friendly match against Burkina Faso on Friday evening, as part of their preparations for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations.
The match, held at the City Stadium in Rabat, saw the Atlas Lionesses assert their dominance from the opening minutes. Sanaa Messaoudi quickly opened the scoring with two consecutive goals in the fourth and sixth minutes.
Ibtissam Jraidi further extended the lead with a third goal in the 33rd minute, followed by Yasmin Mrabet adding the fourth in the 45th minute, ensuring a comfortable advantage for the national team at halftime.
In the second half, Jraidi scored her second goal of the match and the team's fifth in the 57th minute, solidifying Morocco's superiority in a performance marked by offensive efficiency and tactical discipline.
The Atlas Lionesses are scheduled to play their Burkinabe counterparts in a second friendly match next Tuesday, March 3rd, at 10:00 PM. These matches are crucial warm-ups for the Women's Africa Cup of Nations finals, which Morocco will host from March 17th to April 3rd.
The Moroccan Women's National Team has been drawn into Group A for the tournament, alongside Algeria, Senegal, and Kenya.
