Esperance Negotiations with French Coach Patrice Beaumelle Stall Over Contract Length, Release Clause
Negotiations between Tunisian club Esperance Sportive de Tunis and coach Patrice Beaumelle regarding him taking charge of the team have reportedly stalled. According to Tunisian press reports on Thursday, Beaumelle arrived in Tunisia three days ago to conduct official negotiations for coaching the team. However, significant disagreements have emerged between the two parties, primarily concerning the contract's duration and its penalty clauses in the event of termination.
Esperance had recently decided to dismiss former coach Maher Kanzari due to the team's recent poor results.
Discussions between Esperance and Beaumelle are ongoing in an attempt to reach an agreement satisfactory to all parties before their anticipated clash against Al Ahly in the CAF Champions League quarter-finals. The first leg is scheduled to take place at Rades Stadium between March 13 and 15.
Beaumelle recently concluded his tenure with Angola after failing to reach the Round of 16 in the Africa Cup of Nations.
