Feyenoord Moves Training to Belgium Due to Sterling's Work Permit
Dutch football club Feyenoord has announced that it will temporarily move its training sessions this week to Tubize, Belgium. This decision comes as Dutch law prevents new signing Raheem Sterling from training in the Netherlands before his work permit is approved. Coach Robin van Persie confirmed that the primary reason for the relocation is to allow Sterling to integrate quickly with his new teammates.
Dutch regulations prohibit Sterling from participating in training sessions in the Netherlands until his work permit is granted, a process that typically takes about a week. Van Persie also noted that the club can use this opportunity to work on team culture, stating, "We can also work on our team culture there. This is for Raheem and for these processes that we will carry out."
Raheem Sterling signed with Feyenoord last Thursday as a free agent until the end of the season, following the termination of his contract with Chelsea. Feyenoord plans to return to Rotterdam after a final training session on Wednesday, with the club hoping Sterling's work permit will be approved in time for his potential debut on Sunday against Telstar.
