Brazilian star Oscar, formerly of Chelsea, intends to end his football career due to ongoing heart health issues. The 34-year-old attacking midfielder returned to his home country last December after spending eight years in China, joining São Paulo FC. However, this experience was short-lived.

Last August, Oscar received an initial health warning when a heart anomaly was discovered during medical examinations following a vertebral fracture. Concerns escalated significantly during a stress test the player underwent last month with his club. The player, who has 48 international caps, suffered a vasovagal syncope, leading to a loss of consciousness for approximately two minutes, and was subsequently transferred to intensive care for several days.

According to ESPN, these recurring episodes convinced the player to conclude his football career. Oscar has already informed his close family members of this decision, with the images of his fainting spell, during which his pulse disappeared for 50 seconds, remaining vivid in their minds.

São Paulo FC, for its part, is considering the possibility of integrating Oscar into the club's organizational structure, noting that his current contract extends until 2027.
