Arbeloa: "Our Goal Is Not Just to Eliminate Benfica, But to Win the Champions League"
Real Madrid coach Alvaro Arbeloa believes that facing Benfica on their home ground will be different from the match played between the two sides at the same stadium weeks ago, during the Champions League group stage, which ended 4-2 in favor of the Portuguese team.
The Spaniard stated in a press conference preceding the teams' match: "We are not looking for revenge. Our goal is not just to eliminate Benfica, but to win the Champions League."
He continued, speaking about his relationship with his Portuguese counterpart: "Mourinho and I are friends, and if I invite him, I will invite him to eat. I always wish him the best."
He concluded by saying: "Benfica did not surprise me at all, as I know what teams coached by Mourinho are like. But we will play a new match that has nothing to do with what happened three weeks ago."
Real Madrid will visit Benfica at the Estádio da Luz tomorrow, Tuesday (20:00 GMT), for the first leg of the play-off round qualifying for the Champions League last 16.
