Benfica Goalkeeper: "I've Watched My Goal Against Real Madrid 1,000 Times… I Still Can't Believe It Happened"
Benfica's Portuguese goalkeeper, Anatoliy Trubin, stated that he has watched his goal against Real Madrid for the thousandth time, emphasizing the need to be wary of the "Royal" club's reaction in the UEFA Champions League knockout round play-offs.
Trubin told UEFA's official website: "Everything happened in an instant, just a fraction of a second. I didn't think about how to execute it, whether I would score, or if I would win the one-on-one. I was simply playing in that moment, that's all."
He continued: "In the end, everything turned out perfectly. I can say I've watched it a thousand times since then, because it's something unique – a fantastic cross from Fredrik Aursnes, and I finished it excellently too."
He added: "I'm not a very emotional person, but this moment will probably remain in history. I just enjoyed the moment and did everything that came to mind without even thinking. Even now, I still can't quite believe that it actually happened."
He concluded: "They (Real Madrid) don't like to lose and are not used to losing. So, certainly, this result will stick in their minds, especially for players of that caliber. I believe the next encounter will be even more exciting."
Benfica will host Real Madrid tomorrow, Tuesday, starting at 8:00 PM (20:00 GMT+1), for the first leg of the UEFA Champions League knockout round play-offs.
