Ratcliffe (Manchester United Co-owner) in "Controversial" Statement: "The UK Has Been Colonised by Immigrants"
Sir Jim Ratcliffe, co-owner of Manchester United, has sparked widespread controversy after making sharp statements regarding immigration in Britain. He asserted that the economic situation is being affected by the increasing number of arrivals and those benefiting from social welfare.
In an interview with Sky News, Sir Jim Ratcliffe stated: "You cannot have an economy with nine million people on benefits and enormous levels of immigration coming in."
He added: "I mean, the UK has been colonised. That costs a lot of money."
Ratcliffe continued: "The UK has been colonised by immigrants, hasn't it? The population was 58 million, and now it's 70 million, an increase of 12 million people."
Ratcliffe concluded by justifying his stance, arguing that Britain, in his view, faces increasing financial pressures due to the rising number of immigrants and benefit recipients. He believes that addressing these issues requires difficult, potentially unpopular decisions, but they are necessary to reform the economy.
