Carrick: "Fan's Haircut Pledge Makes Me Smile, But Won't Impact Decisions"

Manchester United manager Michael Carrick addressed the story of a fan who vowed not to cut his hair until the team secured five consecutive victories. While expressing his admiration for the fan's dedication, Carrick stated it would have no influence on the players.

The fan, Frank Elliott, garnered significant attention on social media by documenting his journey, which he stated began in October 2024. He has reportedly refrained from cutting his hair for over 500 days due to Manchester United's inability to secure five consecutive victories.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of the West Ham clash, Carrick said, “I learned about this. My kids told me about it, but I certainly won't talk about it with the players.”

He concluded, “I understand what's happening, and it’s something that truly makes me smile, but it will ultimately have no impact on our decisions.”

Manchester United are set to face West Ham United away tomorrow, Tuesday, at 21:15 GMT+1, in a Matchday 26 fixture of the English Premier League. Should they secure a victory, it would mark their fifth consecutive win for the first time since February 2024.
