
Wydad Nears Confederation Cup Quarter-Finals After 1-0 Away Win Over Kenya's Nairobi United
Wydad AC secured a narrow 1-0 victory over their hosts, Kenya's Nairobi United, in a match held on Sunday as part of the fifth round of the CAF Confederation Cup group stage.
The game remained goalless for much of the ninety minutes until the 89th minute, when Wissam Ben Yedder scored the decisive goal for Wydad AC.
Wydad currently leads Group B with 12 points, followed by Maniema Union of Congo in second place with 9 points. Nigeria's Azzam United also has 9 points, while Kenya's Nairobi United sits at the bottom of the group with no points.
In the final group stage match, Wydad will host Azzam United at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca next Sunday, with kick-off scheduled for 3:00 PM (GMT+1).
