Wydad AC coach Mohamed Amine Benhachem affirmed that topping their group provides no advantage ahead of their clash against Kenya's Nairobi United in the fifth round of the CAF Confederation Cup group stage.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Benhachem stated, "Today we are in first place, but this gives us no advantage for tomorrow's match, because the standings reflect what we have done previously, not what we still need to do."

The coach of the Red Castle added, "Tomorrow's match is very important, and we must play it with intelligence and maturity. Despite being at the bottom of the table, Nairobi is a very good team with real quality, but they lack a bit of luck."

He continued, "In this type of competition, every match is difficult, and if we don't play at 100%, we might face difficulties. We must show a reaction in terms of intensity and focus."

Benhachem further explained, "After three victories, the defeat in the last match left an impact on us and reminded us that we can never drop our level and that nothing is guaranteed."

Wydad AC will face their hosts, Kenya's Nairobi United, tomorrow, Sunday, at 2:00 PM (GMT+1).

Why does Wydad AC coach Benhachem believe their first-place standing offers no advantage against Nairobi United?

Coach Benhachem stated that their current first-place position reflects past performance, not future requirements, emphasizing the need for full intensity and focus in the upcoming CAF Confederation Cup match.

What did Coach Benhachem say about Nairobi United's quality despite their league position?

Benhachem described Nairobi United as a 'very good team with real quality,' noting they only 'lack a bit of luck,' despite their current bottom-of-the-table standing in the group.
