CAF Executive Committee to Meet on February 13 to Discuss Regulations Following AFCON Final Sanctions
The Executive Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) is preparing to hold a meeting in Tanzania on February 13. The purpose of the meeting is to review a set of regulatory frameworks, most notably the Disciplinary Code.
Patrice Motsepe, the CAF President, called for this Executive Committee meeting to make several decisions outside the scope of the ordinary General Assembly and to discuss updates to CAF regulations following the events witnessed during the AFCON final.
Motsepe indicated that the objective of this review is to empower the judicial bodies of CAF to impose appropriate sanctions on anyone who commits serious violations of the statutes or regulations of the Confederation, in addition to penalizing any conduct that gravely harms the reputation and integrity of African football.
The CAF President added that this step is part of the Confederation's efforts to enhance oversight of compliance with laws and ensure the continued respect and appreciation of African football at the international level.
