
CAF Sets 48-Hour Deadline for AFCON Final Decision Between Morocco and Senegal
The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) announced, in an official statement, that it appeared today, Tuesday, before the Disciplinary Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), following the events that occurred after the Africa Cup of Nations final between Morocco and Senegal.
The aforementioned body clarified that these proceedings were initiated based on the match officials' reports, in addition to the Royal Moroccan Football Federation's (FRMF) recourse to legal procedures following the unfortunate events that accompanied the final.
The statement noted that the Senegalese Federation was represented by its Secretary-General, supported by legal counsel Professor Seydou Diagne. National team coach Pape Thiaw, along with players Ismaïla Sarr and Iliman Ndiaye, were also officially heard, presenting their defenses before the competent committee.
The same source confirmed that the Disciplinary Committee decided to reserve the case for deliberation, with the final decision to be communicated within a period not exceeding 48 hours, as stipulated by the chairperson of CAF's Disciplinary Committee.
